Estate Planning Council of Seattle
Our primary mission is to educate and provide resources to estate planning professionals. Our website, www.epcseattle.org gives you access to unbiased information about estate tax-planning strategies, wills, trusts, business succession, and other topics guide your estate planning. The Council is composed of local attorneys, CPAs, trust officers, insurance professionals, financial planners, and members of the planned giving community whose professional careers are centered around helping individuals achieve their estate planning goals.
Estate Planning Seminar
The Estate Planning Seminar is approaching it’s seventh decade of educating planning professionals and we strive to continue to grow and provide the very best in continuing education for our industry. Our goal is to bring education, networking, and community to EPC members and non-members alike.

Alex E. Hurt, JD
Counsel, Perkins Coie
Alex’s practice focuses on estate planning and trust and estate administration. This practice ranges tax planning, wealth succession and preservation strategies, multigenerational wealth transfer, asset protection, charitable giving, and general business and business succession planning. He also represents clients in probate proceedings and trust administration, as well as estate and trust dispute resolution. His practice includes both planning for clients’ personal needs, and advising clients in their fiduciary capacities.
Alex is a native Washingtonian, growing up in the Edmonds area. He graduated cum laude from Seattle University School of Law and received a Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He currently serves as board member for Seattle Children’s Next Generation Legacy Advisors, and previously served as a trustee for the Eastside King County Bar Association.

A highly experienced professional, Liz is a relationship manager with Key Private Bank. She recently led the financial planning engagement with our families and focused on client experience. Prior to joining Key, Liz was a Vice President & Client Advisor in Whittier Trust’s Seattle office as well as a Vice President & Relationship Manager with Washington Trust Bank’s Wealth Management & Advisory Services in Western Washington. She spent many years with Harris N.A. in Chicago, now BMO Harris Bank, where she was most recently a Vice President & Trust Officer.
Liz graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing. She has been a Certified Financial Planner™ professional since 2008 and is a member of the internationally-based Society of Trust and Estate Planning Practitioners (STEP). Liz is a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School as well as the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts and holds both the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) certification. She is an active member of a local chapter of Toastmasters International, the NW Family Business advisors, The Estate Planning Council of Seattle (Executive Committee), Washington Women’s Foundation, and a former board member of Seattle 4 Rotary.
